Malaysian Yamaha motorcycles assemblers and distributors Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn. Bhd. (HLYM) has expanded its big bike line up yet again after introducing its latest addition, the Yamaha XV950R Bolt.


According to Yamaha, the XV950R Bolt stands as a ‘neo-retro’ Japanese bobber, with Yamaha offering owners a wide variety of customisation options as well thanks to its ‘raw’ design. The cruiser is powered by an air-cooled 942cc V-twin engine primed with fuel injection. Paired with the mill is a constant mesh 5-speed transmission that manages the powerplant’s maximum output of 51.4hp and 79.5Nm of torque to the rear wheel.


Notable features on board the XV950R Bolt includesa ABS brakes, a remodelled exhaust system, followed by a 3D ECU mapping, a compact air intake system, a double cradle steel frame, 12-spoke wheels with wave discs, as well as a generous dosage of matte-finished components.


According to HLYM, the firm is targeting buyers seeking for an affordable yet powerful cruiser with the newly launched Yamaha XVR950 Bolt. Additionally, the model also stands as HLYM’s fourth major model to join into its big bike model line-up for the Malaysian market alongside other notable models such as the XJ6, MT07 and the MT-09.


The new Yamaha XV950R Bolt CBU is now available at selected authorised Yamaha dealerships beginning this month. Prices start from RM52,500 excluding road tax, insurance and options.
