The rumours of a KTM 390 Adventure has been going round for a year at least. Now though, reports coming out of India indicate that it, along with a smaller KTM 200 Adventure version, will likely debut later this year.
Indian-based sources report that KTM and its India-based partner, Bajaj Motorcycles, plans to launch the new series of ‘baby’ Adventure bike as early as April or May. However, the materialisation of this allegation remains to be seen.
Rumours of a smaller-sized KTM Adventure range of bikes have surfaced as early as 2014, with each report since alleging a launch date sooner than the last. This new rounds of reports has kept that rumour alive for now, especially with one recent report published by Indian site RushLane that featured a series of renders as well.
As the name suggests, the supposed KTM 390 Adventure will underpin the KTM 390 Duke naked bike and will likely don Adventure-esque aesthetics such as a raised ride-height, large windscreen, or perhaps it could get a set of spoked wheels with knobby off-road tyres too.
What is new in this new round of reports are allegations of an even smaller KTM 200 Adventure model to accompany the rumoured 390 Adventure. This has been widely assumed to be based on the smaller KTM 200 Duke model instead.
Both bikes are reportedly being developed jointly by KTM with Bajaj Motorcycles, with the latter also tasked with mass-producing the models. However, both the Austrian marque and the Indian two-wheeled manufacturer have yet to confirm anything.
